Dwelling refers to immovable structures and includes the private dwelling and its domestic outbuildings, including the entire landlord's fixture, fittings and improvements thereon.
Building Cover includes cover for:
All risk insurance covers your personal possessions that you normally wear or take out of the house with you, such as clothing and personal effects. Provides cover where items need not be listed, cover is limited to 25% of the sum insured. Specified items relate to individual items and their values which are independently listed.

CIb Insurance offers personal liability of R9 million and this can be extended to R20 million.
Vehicles include private motor cars, trailers and caravans not exceeding 3 500kg in gross vehicle mass. Comprehensive Cover: Comprehensive insurance covers you for all your own accidental damage, theft and hijacking as well as injury to other people or damage to their property. Third Party Fire and Theft Cover: Third party Fire and Theft cover is limited to loss of or damage as a direct result of fire and theft, including accidental damage to third parties. Accidental damage to your own vehicle is not covered. Third Party: Accidental third party property damage, death and injury on privately owned motor vehicles.

In the event of a death of any member of the family, having protection against the costs associated with the emotional trauma and obvious related expenses, is paramount for those left behind. The CIB Family Protection Plan will pay out an immediate amount to the family, giving them the chance to deal with the other important matters surrounding the passing of a loved one. Cover includes death by natural and accidental causes and can be selected to include the insured, the spouse, parents, children and domestic workers.

You / your / yours / yourself can mean the insured, spouse(s), parents(s), child (children) and domestic worker(s) as stated in the schedule.
Nature of Cover
In the event of your Death either by natural causes or as a result of violent, accidental, external and visible means (accident), we will pay to you or your nominated representative or, if no representative is nominated, to your estate the benefit as indicated in the plan selected as shown in the schedule.
The benefits provided for spouse(s), parent(s), child (children) and/or domestic worker(s) will only be provided if such parties are indicated as an insured person.
Special Exclusions
1. No benefit shall be payable:
1.1. In the event of any pre-existing condition or ailment which results in your death within 6 months of the commencement date of effecting cover under this section. 1.2. In the event of suicide within 2 years of the commencement date of effecting cover under this section. 1.3. In respect of any child who has attained his/her 22nd birthday or is legally declared married, whichever event occurs first or in respect of any child who has attained his/her 25th birthday and is a full time student attending an accredited place of education and is primarily dependent on you or your spouse for support.

Special Conditions
1. Proof of death
On your death, notice must immediately be given to us together with any such proof of death and any other information which may reasonably be required by us. If these requirements have not been met within 3 months following the date of your death, the claim shall not be met.
2. Beneficiary
In respect of any claim consequent upon your death, we will pay the benefit to the beneficiary nominated by you and named in the schedule.
Cover for Credit Shortfall can be included at an additional premium and up to a maximum limit of indemnity in the amount of R200 000 (two hundred thousand rand.)
General
Cover will be provided should any vehicle comprehensively insured under this section be:
We will pay to the duly registered finance company that financed the purchase of the vehicle any difference between the reasonable retail value and the settlement balance outstanding under a valid credit agreement subject to the total payment not exceeding R200 000 (two hundred thousand rand) less the FIRST AMOUNT PAYABLE. (Including all additional and voluntary excesses).
